Entrance Requirements

1. Applicants sponsored by a federal or other law enforcement agency (such as Sheriff's Departments, District Attorneys, city or state agencies, etc.) or participants in rehabilitation programs:
   1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
   2. Must accurately complete Backster School Application Form.
   3. Must have been employed full-time with the sponsoring agency for at least one year prior to the start of the course for which application is submitted.
   4. Must have authorizing signature of the sponsoring agency.
   5. Must present satisfactory proof of having completed at least two years (60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university. An exception may be made by presenting satisfactory proof of five years of law enforcement or federal investigative experience.
      
      Note: Above requirements A3 and A4 are waived if applicant is participating in a rehabilitation program relating to prior law enforcement employment.
      
2. All Other Applicants
   1. Must be at least 21 years of age.
   2. Must accurately complete Backster School Application Form.
   3. Must present satisfactory proof of having completed at least two years (60 semester hours) at an accredited college or university. An exception may be made by presenting equivalent experience acceptable to the School.
   4. Must receive favorable overall evaluation, by Backster School, of the replies from references provided on the application form.
   5. Strongly recommended to have law enforcement or private investigation background.
   6. Must be willing to complete satisfactory Backster School personal interview no later than the week preceding the scheduled class for which application is submitted.
      
      Note: A personal interview may be requested. The Backster School shall reserve the right to attempt to clarify unresolved background areas through the use of the polygraph. Final decision regarding the admission of the applicant is at the discretion of The Backster School of Lie Detection.
