About the School
The Backster School of Lie Detection provides maximum technique emphasis and concentrates on law enforcement applications of the polygraph.
The Backster School is the leader in establishing polygraph oriented educational standards. It is the leading school teaching techniques for obtaining polygraph examination determinations exclusively through chart results, yet does not neglect emphasis on interrogation approaches where deceptive charts are indicated.
References attesting to the high standards of the Backster School can be received from leading law enforcement agencies using the polygraph. It is their consensus that the Backster School presents the most advanced polygraph examiner course, as its founder is still active as School Director and has made major contributions toward techniques now considered standard.
The program of instruction is complemented by the training facility, its space consisting of a large classroom, individual cubicles for the polygraph instrument practice sessions and selected closed circuit television for monitoring students during simulated case situations. Training video tapes include lectures on such topics as: court testimony; legal aspects; and polygraph procedure help to assist in the learning process. Facilities are available for color video taping and editing. Special course emphasis is given to usage of the most modern polygraph equipment involving computer generated polygraph charts and computer assisted chart analysis. In its library, the school has available books that can be obtained on a loan basis.
Sanitary facilities are available on the same floor of the building, and public parking is within a one block radius of the school.
